Marufuku has been producing premium Japanese green tea from Shizuoka since 1955. Founded by Enji Ito, a lifelong tea connoisseur, the company was built on a single conviction: that the quality of tea begins at the source. Ito sourced leaves from across Japan before settling on the Okouchi area along the Abe River in Shizuoka — a region whose exceptional growing conditions remain central to Marufuku's identity today.
Nearly seventy years later, the company still controls every stage of the process, from managing its own tea farms to blending, roasting, powdering, and packaging. That integrated approach, combined with ongoing investment in technique and quality assurance, has earned Marufuku recognition both in Japan and internationally, including the Fuji no Kuni New Product Selection Gold Award and the Nihoncha Award Special Recognition Award.
In 2001, Marufuku added an organic line certified by the Japan Organic & Natural Foods Association, reflecting a broader commitment to sustainability alongside quality. The range today covers premium matcha, loose leaf teas, organic teas, and gift collections, each one an extension of the same standards the company was founded on.
